NERMAL – (Female, Late teens – 20s, Alto).  A kitten who is Garfield’s arch nemesis.  (Nermal is a male, but played by female due to vocal range.)  Nermal thinks he is the world’s cutest kitten and often gets attention over Garfield, causing a great rivalry.  Nermal likes to remind Garfield how much older Garfield is.  This actor should be small in stature and quick, smart and clever.  She should be able to move well.

ARLENE – (Female, Late teens – mid-late 20s, Alto).  A beautiful, sweet-natured, pink cat.  Arlene is Garfield’s friend and possible love interest.  She is sweet yet smart, kind yet tough, and serves as Garfield’s voice of reason.  Arlene can get very irritated with Garfield’s rudeness and teasing, but has affection for him regardless.  They have a love hate relationship.  Garfield loves himself and Arlene hates that.  The actress

JON ARBUCKLE / ANIMAL CONTROL – (Male, 30s – Early 40s Tenor).  Jon is the owner of Garfield and Odie.   Jon is a geek with a heart of gold.  He is sweet yet nerdy, dull yet goofy.  Nevertheless, he is kind and caring, with a flawed sense of fashion.  He is looking to impress his girlfriend, Liz, who is Garfield’s veterinarian. This actor also doubles as Animal Control who is dim-witted and clumsy.  Should be able to move well, especially as Animal control.
