To accompany the production and enhance the meanings teachers and students find in it, we’ve assembled a comprehensive web-based student Study Guide to the play loaded with articles, slideshows, bibliographies and webographies.

To Kill a Mockingbird marks our fourth year participating in the College’s campus-wide Themester initiative. Previous collaborations include:

  • All My Sons – Themester 2011: Making War, Making Peace
  • The Grapes of Wrath – Themester 2010: Sustain*ability
  • Inherit the Wind – Themester 2009: Evolution, Diversity, Change
Each production was accompanied by an extensive Student Study Guide, workshops and public talkbacks with artists and experts. Programming has featured special collaborations with The Monroe County History Center, the Stone Age Institute, The Monroe County Public Library, Wonderlab, the IU Art Museum, and faculty from various departments from around the university campus.

Themester productions feature special student matinee performances; teachers who are interested in bringing their classes to the show should contact Heidi Harmon at heidi@cardinalstage.org.

Educators who would like to know more about Cardinal’s educational outreach should contact Ellen MacKay at emackay@indiana.edu.
