Dillard,-AshleyAshley Dillard (Nora) Ashley Dillard is a first-year M.F.A. student in acting at Indiana University with a B.A. in Theatre from Indiana State University. For IU Theatre: Good Kids (Deidre) Pride and Prejudice (Lady Catherine de Bourgh). Ellenwood,-SusanSusan Ellenwood (Blanche) was born and raised in Indiana and has been involved in all aspects of Theatre for most of her life. Some of her favorite roles include “Kate” in Harold Pinter’s Old Times, “Ann” in 1940’s Radio Hour and most recently of course the “Wicked Witch of the West” in Cardinal Stage’s own production of The Wizard of Oz. Susan is thrilled to join Cardinal again for Brighton Beach Memoirs. Deepest thanks to Matt for keeping everyone alive at home while I’m with my Brighton Beach family.


Jackson,-JJoelle Jackson (Laurie – double cast) Joelle is excited to be part of Brighton Beach Memoirs. Recently, she originated the role of young Daisy Harris in the Bloomington Playwright’s Project premiere of Make Me Bad. Previously, she joined Cardinal casts in Shrek the Musical (Young Fiona); Annie (Orphan); Wizard of Oz (City Father Munchkin); Willy Wonka (Ensemble); as well as in the Cardinal Summer Intensive of Into the Woods Jr. (Little Red). She was part of the cast of the Monroe County Civic Theater’s production of Urinetown (Little Sally). When not performing, Joelle can be found swimming for the Indiana University Counsilman Swim Team, and madly writing novels. Joelle is currently in seventh grade at The Project School in Bloomington.


Lloyd,-EEleanor Lloyd (Laurie – double cast) recently played Teen Fiona in Cardinal’s Shrek: The Musical. Other Cardinal appearances include Pippi Longstocking (Annika), Cat in the Hat (Sally), Willy Wonka (Oompa Loompa), and Wizard of Oz (Munchkin Coroner). She also has performed in IU Opera productions of La Boheme, Der Rosenkavalier and Cendrillon.   Last fall she sang in Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem with the IU Children’s Choir. Offstage, she plays travel soccer for Cutters and attends 8th Grade at Tri-North Middle School.


Philbeck,-Ethan SquareEthan Philbeck (Stanley) has previously worked with Cardinal, performing in Shrek the Musical, Les Misérables, Pippi Longstocking, Go, Dog. Go!, Annie, Big River, The Grapes of Wrath, A Christmas Carol, and as The Boy in If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (2010). He has donned the role of the Duck in Click, Clack, Moo, worked behind the scenes as stage manager for Streetcar Named Desire, The Birthday Feast, 1776, The Letters, as co-stage manager for The Lonesome West, as an assistant stage manager for A Year With Frog and Toad and My Fair Lady (as well as playing Jamie). He would like to thank his family and friends for continuing to make these things possible, as well as motivating and inspiring him to participate in such wonderful productions!


Price, MikeMike Price (Jack) Has acted in Cardinal Stage productions including 1776, The 39 Steps, Les Miserables, Charlotte’s Web, The Lonesome West, My Fair Lady, August: Osage County, Underneath the Lintel and A Year with Frog and Toad. Mike has an MA in instructional systems technology and has worked as an instructional video producer/director and instructional consultant.  He is the associate artistic director at Cardinal Stage Company and assists with media, web and production technical issues.


Rivkin,-EllenElaine Rivkin (Kate) is making her first appearance at Cardinal Stage. She has performed professionally for the past 30 years. Her Chicago credits include: Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Libra and The Crucible (tya) (Steppenwolf); Pyretown and Tree (Victory Gardens); You Never Can Tell (Remy Bumppo Theatre); The Cider House Rules, The Homecoming, Conquest of the South Pole, Hushabye Mountain, Pride’s Crossing, Beautiful Thing, Speaking in Tongues, Remembrance, Mann Ist Mann, Salt of the Earth, Hellcab and many others (as an ensemble member: Famous Door Theatre); ‘Night Mother (Hancock Productions); Execution of Justice (About Face); St. Colm’s Inch (Chicago Dramatists) and La Bete (Pegasus). Outside Chicago: Broken Glass and The Lover (North Coast Rep); The Inge Festival (William Inge Center for the Arts); Hellcab (Singapore Arts Fest); and The Early Girl (Edinburgh Fringe Fest). Film: Exaltation; In the Name of God; Punched in the Gut; 684 Brewster; and Living in the Edge. Elaine currently freelances as a Session Director at Paskal-Rudnicke Casting and teaches On-Camera Techniques at the Chicago High School for the Arts.

Starks,-ConnorConnor Starks (Eugene) Connor Starks is making his Cardinal (and professional) debut portraying the lead character in the Magnum Opus of one of the greatest American playwrights who ever lived. He is surprised and delighted to be doing so. Connor has most recently been seen in Bloomington North’s production of The Crucible (Rev. John Hale), for which he won a Best-In-Show award at the IFT regional competition. He has also acted in the BHSN productions of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Hysterium), Bus Stop (Dr. Gerald Lyman), Crazy For You (Sam), and Waiting For Lefty (Agate Keller), for which he won the Best Actor award at the same competition. He has also participated in the independent production Connor & AJ (which is available on YouTube). He sends shout outs to the cast and crew of BHSN’s The Drowsy Chaperone.
