Overview

It’s 1962 Baltimore and perky plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad has only one desire — to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her new position to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network — all without denting her ‘do!

Mark Smith reveals his “Hairspray” model

  •  will be choreographed by Liza Gennaro, who choreographed the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of The Most Happy Fella and the Broadway revival of Once Upon a Mattress starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Ms. Gennaro has choreographed at major Regionals across the country, including twelve consecutive seasons of musicals at The St. Louis “Muny” Opera. She also choreographed last season’s wonderful Guys and Dolls for IU Theatre and Drama.
