This delightful adaptation of Mo Willems’ award-winning Elephant and Piggie books features best friends Gerald and Piggie in a hilarious vaudevillian musical romp! Join Gerald the Elephant and Piggie as they sing, dance, and discover the true meaning of friendship.

  • is Cardinal’s final Cardinal for Kids show of the 2015-2016 season.
  • is adapted from Mo Willems’ Geisel Award-winning Elephant and Piggie books series. Willems also wrote the script and lyrics for the musical adaptation.

  • was originally commissioned in 2012 by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. and has since been performed throughout the country.
  • stars New York-based actor Reid Henderson as Gerald the Elephant, who recently starred as Bert in Cardinal’s holiday production of Mary Poppins.
  • stars Cardinal veteran and Indiana University sophomore Audie Deinlein as the quirky and imaginative Piggie in her Cardinal Stage debut.
  • features Cardinal regulars Lola Kennedy (Annie, To Kill a Mockingbird, Willy Wonka, Mary Poppins, Pippi Longstocking, The Birthday Feast, Peabody, the Science Fair Affair), Hadley Abrams (Mary Poppins, Shrek the Musical, Willy Wonka, The Cat in the Hat), Aubrey Seader (Mary Poppins, Go, Dog. Go!, Oliver!), and Shannon Starks (Mary Poppins, Shrek the Musical, Les Miserables) as the Squirelles – a musical trio of helpful squirrels.
  • features a creative team that includes Cardinal’s artistic director Randy White, musical director Ryan O’Connell (Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady), costume designer Alexandra Morphet (Our Town, A Year with Frog and Toad, Big River and many others), and choreographer Berklea Going (Junie B Jones in last year’s production of Junie B Jones).
