CARDINAL’S PRODUCTION OF ANN

  • RHP_05

Diane Kondrat as the famously brassy newspaper columnist and best-selling author Molly Ivins in Cardinal’s 2011 production of Red Hot Patriot.

stars Bloomington’s own Diane Kondrat (Our Town, boom, The Grapes of Wrath, Red Hot Patriot), who returns home from Portland, Oregon to headline a limited run!

  • is directed by acclaimed Chicago-based actor Mary Beth Fisher
  • is a no-holds-barred portrait of the trailblazing and legendary Texas Governor, Ann Richards. Well-known for witty one-liners like, “Poor George [Bush], he can’t help it – he was born with a silver foot in his mouth,” delivered at the 1988 Democratic National convention. Other favorite quips include, “I’ve always said that in politics, your enemies can’t hurt you, but your friends will kill you!”
  • was written by  Emmy Award winner Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men). Taylor also played the role on Broadway and was nominated for the Tony award for lead actress in a play.
