Will Allan (Victor) makes his Cardinal Stage debut. He hails from Chicago where he was last seen in Ah Willderness at the Goodman Theatre and in Circumference Of A Squirrel at the Greenhouse Theater – for which he is currently nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Performance of a Solo Play. His other Chicago credits include: Good People, The March, The Flick, Animal Farm, and A Separate Peace at Steppenwolf Theatre; The Seagull and Dartmoor Prison at the Goodman; The Wale at Victory Gardens; The History of Boys at TimeLine Theatre; The Goat Or, Who is Sylvia at Remy Bumppo; and more. Regionally, he has been seen in The Mousetrap at Milwaukee Rep and Red at The Human Race Theatre Company. He’s an Associate Artist and a member of the Playwrights Collective at TimeLine Theatre. He studied at North Central College in Naperville, IL as well as the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia.

Hayley Burgess (Elizabeth) makes her Cardinal Stage debut. Chicago credits include Twilight Bowl and Ugly as part of Goodman Theatre’s New Stages, Spin Moves as part of Victory Gardens’ Ignition Festival, The Mystery of Love and Sex at Writers Theatre, Domesticated at Steppenwolf Theatre and Stupid Kid as part of Steppenwolf’s First Look Series, Fugitive Awareness at First Floor Theatre and Jake’s Women at Spartan Theatre. Upcoming: Women in Jeopardy at First Folio. Graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and the School at Steppenwolf.

 

Juan Mares Castillo (Townsperson) is a recent Indiana University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications. He is excited to gain experience and expand on his career by making his debut with Cardinal Stage Company! For Indiana University; The Tempest (Sebastian). Other; University Players’ The Night Owl (Tattoo Guy), Goshen for Now (Marco). Juan grew up in the small town of Goshen, Indiana, and is happy to continue his growth here in Bloomington.

 

Sam Cusack (Klaus/Ewan) is an upper elementary teacher at Bloomington Montessori School. This is Sam’s ninth Cardinal Stage Company production. Previously, he appeared in My Fair Lady, Annie, Big River, Charlotte’s Web, August: Osage County, Les Misérables, Hairspray, and Oliver!. He sings in the Unitarian Universalist Church Choir. Sam is married with two daughters. His family resides on a small farmstead, where his wife grew up. Sam has degrees from the University of North Carolina and the Culinary Institute of America.

 

Christopher R Ellis (Creature) is excited to join the cast of Frankenstein for his first appearance with Cardinal Stage Company. Christopher graduated with his M.F.A in Acting from the Hilberry Rep Theatre program at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He studied abroad in Moscow, Russia at the Moscow Art Theatre’s summer intensive program “Month in Moscow.” Christopher has appeared in recurring roles on Network Television including Chicago Fire (NBC), Chicago P.D. (NBC), Empire (FOX), and will appear in the first episode of The Punisher (ABC/Netflix). Christopher is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.

Grace Experience (Agatha) is honored to perform in her first show at Cardinal Stage! Off Broadway: Gloria in Molasses In January, and Chorus in Dave Malloy’s Beardo. Select Regional: Cinderella in Into the Woods (Heartwood Regional Theatre); Silly Girl in Beauty and the Beast (Berkshire Theatre Group); Anoush in Some People Hear Thunder (Capital Rep) and Margot in Dial M for Murder (Millbrook Playhouse.) She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild. Love to Mom, Dad and Stephen.

 

Hannah Joy Gauthier (Clarice/Gretel) is a recent graduate of DePauw University where she received her Bachelor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance. This is her first appearance with Cardinal Stage. Hannah Joy has previously performed with the Ohio Light Opera Company, the College Light Opera Company, and the Intimate Opera Company of Indianapolis as well as many DePauw productions.  Some of her favorite roles include Harper Pitt (Angels in America: Millennium Approaches), Amy (Company), Lady of the Lake (Spamalot), Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Poppea (Coronation of Poppea) and Ernestina Money (Hello, Dolly!). Mark David Kaplan (Monsier Frankenstein/DeLacey) happily makes his Cardinal Stage debut. Recent work includes The Mystery of Love and Sex at Writer’s Theatre, Mary Zimmerman’s Wonderful Town at the Goodman, and Drury Lane’s Crazy for You, where – as Thénardier in Les Misérables – he received the 2014 Joseph Jefferson Award. Other favorites include Little Shop of Horrors (American Blues), Hairspray (Syracuse Stage), Amadeus (Indiana Rep), We Three Lizas (About Face Theatre), Forbidden Broadway (Off Broadway/Chicago – 2009 Jeff Award), Ragtime (Tateh – 2010 Jeff Award), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Panch – James Lapine, dir.), Man of La Mancha (Sancho – Montana Shakespeare in the Parks), and countless premieres with Chicago Shakespeare, Marriott and the Skylight.  Mark has twice toured the US and Canada as Zazu in The Lion King, and traveled to Japan, Australia, Singapore and beyond with Forbidden Broadway and Forbidden Hollywood. He is a proud 31-year member of Actor’s Equity Association.

Claire Logan (Female Creature) is a senior at Indiana University earning a BFA in Musical Theatre. For IU Theatre: Into the Woods (Ensemble), Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Ensemble), Jesus Christ Superstar (Ensemble), The Drowsy Chaperone (Janet van de Graaf). For Cardinal Stage Company: Oliver! (Matron). For STAGES St. Louis: Anything Goes (Purity), Seussical (Bird Girl #2), Nine to Five (Ensemble). Claire is from St. Louis, Missouri.

 

Katie Malish (Townsperson) is ecstatic to be making her debut with Cardinal Stage Company in Frankenstein working alongside so many talented people. Recent credits include: The Great American Trailer Park Musical with University Players (Jeannie), Resting Bitch Face for IU Independent Projects (Funda), A Christmas Carol with Great Lakes Theatre Festival (Soloist), In the Heights with Geauga Lyric Theater Guild (Vanessa), and The Fantasticks with GLTG (Luisa). She is a sophomore at Indiana University double majoring in Secondary English Education and Theatre and Drama. She would like to thank God, her friends, and her family for their constant love and support.

Callum Parnell Miles (William) is 11 years old and is delighted to return to Cardinal after Mary Poppins (Michael Banks) and Oliver! (Workhouse Child). Cal performed with the IU Opera Theater in The Music Man (Winthrop Paroo), Rodelinda (Prince Flavio), Carmen (Child), and Dead Man Walking (Child).  A voice student of Benjamin Smith, he also participates in the IMEA State Honor Choir, Circle the State with Song, the IU Children’s Choir, and was a soloist with the IU University Chorale (Britten’s St. Nicolas). Nov. 15th, Callum will perform with the IUCC in a performance of St. Luke Passion, directed by Maestro Penderecki, himself! A member of the St. Charles Cross Country and Swimming teams, Cal also enjoys sailing and fishing! He is a violinist when not picking tunes on banjo and ukulele. Much appreciation to directors, family, friends, and teachers for their support of his artistic path so far!

Richkard Saint-Victor (Felix/ Constable) is a recent graduate from Indiana University, with a degree in Theatre and Drama, and is excited to make his Cardinal Stage debut. Ian Shaw (William) is eleven and a sixth grader at Binford Elementary School.  Ian is thrilled to be a part of another Cardinal Stage production.  His other Cardinal productions include Oliver! (Oliver) and Mary Poppins (Michael Banks).  Last spring Ian played Winthrop in IU Opera Theatre’s The Music Man.  He has also been in several Stages Bloomington productions, most recently playing the Cowardly Lion in Wizard of Oz Kids.  Ian has been playing ukulele for many years and loves playing at the Ukulele World Congress every summer.  He also plays piano, guitar, trumpet, tennis, and sings with the IU Children’s Choir.

Matthew Weidenbener (Gustav/Client/Rab) is thrilled to be joining Cardinal for his fifteenth production! He is a rising senior at IU, pursuing his B.F.A. in musical theatre. Recent credits include, Grandstreet Theatre: Cry-Baby (Baldwin/Dance Captain), Tarzan (Father/Ape/DC). For Cardinal Stage: West Side Story (Co-Choreographer), A Year with Frog and Toad (Snail), Oliver!, Mary Poppins, Hairspray. For IU Theatre: Urinetown (Asst. Dir/Chor.), The Drowsy Chaperone (Robert Martin), Jesus Christ Superstar, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Sweet Charity. Matthew can be seen weekly co-hosting WTIU’s The FridayZone, airing on PBS Kids throughout the midwest. He is a Bloomington native.
